Evaluation and Optimization of In-Vehicle HUD Design by Applying an Entropy Weight-VIKOR Hybrid Method

Background: The interface design of in-vehicle head-up display (HUD) is an enlarging research area with usability as its core; reflects all perspectives human—machine interaction and thus the evaluation optimization have multiple objectives. quality involved in are subjective subconscious. Nevertheless, very little attention has been paid to these issues optimizing across Methods: In this paper, a hybrid scheme method based on entropy weight VIKOR proposed. First, according content PSSUQ (Post Study System Usability Question), we established new system characteristics HUD. was used reduce factors decision-makers achieve objective each indicator. for obtaining order alternate schemes then optimal selected. Results: A case study carried out illustrate applicability developed model HUD design. results showed that 1 optimized scheme, minimal value Si (0.141), Ri (0.119) Qi (0.000) among three schemes. When other decision-making methods were applied, 1, respectively, which verified feasibility proposed method. entropy—VIKOR can be evaluate optimize effectively, may serve reference designers insights during process decision-making.
